UNHCR RESUMES RETURN OPERATION FOR DISPLACED IN NORTHEN CONGO

UNHCR resumes return operation for displaced in northern Congo
The UN Refugee Agency last month resumed the assisted return of displaced Congolese to their homes in northern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The operation was suspended earlier in the year due to insecurity.

To help them reintegrate, returning families are provided with a package that includes blankets, mosquito nets, kitchen sets, and plastic sheeting.
UNHCR is also helping villages to reconstruct homes, schools and health centers. Particular attention is given to the most vulnerable, including widows and orphans. Over 2,000 IDPs are expected to return to their homes in the coming weeks.
