En estos últimos días aparecieron Gringos, con papeles de compra y venta de Tierras, están usurpando lugares que siempre nos pertenecieron, aduciendo que son de ellos, sacando a gente humilde sin piedad, son tierras con historia, con más de 500 años que fueron nuestras.

Hoy todos extraños están ocupando Tilcara, construyendo hoteles, la inseguridad está creciendo, ya no podemos salir a la calle, no podemos dejar las puertas abiertas, como siempre lo hacíamos....

Gente que vivió toda su vida sembrando, criando ovejas, hoy está siendo desalojada por gringos con plata que con un papel de Compra y Venta falso, nos quieren quitar lo poco que nos pertenece.

Los Tilcareños necesitamos ayuda, que se investigue todo esto, ya no aguantamos más, queremos que se vaya toda esta gente extraña.

Les pido encarecidamente y con el corazón humilde que tenemos, nos ayuden.

Nosotros no podemos hacer nada contra este aparato más poderoso que nuestra simpleza de ser tilcareños.

Calle Sorpresa de Tilcara Familia Flores Olmos, despojada por Alvarez Prado, después de 85 Años de Mantener una Tierra.

Comunidad Aborigen de Villa Florida están siendo despojados por Zambrano (Gente Extraña).

Comunidad del Huasamayo ya fueron despojadas varias familias y hoy nos quitan la Cancha de Fútbol donde juegan 600 deportistas del pueblo.

Club Atlético Terry despojado de una tierra para el deporte por personas desconocidas que compraron en esta semana estas tierras quien sabe a quien y el 9 de mayo fueron alambradas y cercadas.

Barrio Usina, Familias enteras que están siendo despojadas de sus tierras por terceros.
Todos estos vienen con papeles de la ciudad.

¿Qué podemos hacer?

Ya no hay justicia para nosotros.

¿Qué pasará mañana en Tilcara?

Toda esta gente nos maltrata con palabras tales como: Coyas, Negros sucios, etc. Palabras irreproducibles.

WE DESERVE IT DIVIDEND

Not my plan, but I will take the credit for this idea, after all it was sent to me.
If we send the money, and it works, I think I want to run for Vice President.
You know anyone can! If only this was the plan and it worked...
I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.
To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child.
So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.

My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.
Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.
That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.
A husband and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?

Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads Put away money for college - it'll be there Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car - create jobs Invest in the market - capital drives growth Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehmann Brothers and every other company that is cutting back.
And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.
If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( "vote buy" ) economic incentive.
If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!
As for AIG - liquidate it. Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.
Sure it's a crazy idea that can "never work."
But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!
How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC .
And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

The citizens of Alaska, who know her best, have things to say.

So take heart, sit back, and enjoy the photo gallery.

"Alaska Women Reject Palin Rally" was to be held outside on the lawn in front of the Loussac Library in midtown Anchorage.

Home made signs were encouraged, and the idea was to make a statement that Sarah Palin does not speak for all Alaska women, or men.

I had no idea what to expect.

The rally was organized by a small group of women, talking over coffee.

It made me wonder what other things have started with small groups of women talking over coffee.

It's probably an impressive list.

These women hatched the plan, printed up flyers, posted them around town, and sent notices to local media outlets.

One of those media outlets was KBYR radio, home of Eddie Burke, a long-time uber-conservative Anchorage talk show host.

Turns out that Eddie Burke not only announced the rally, but called the people who planned to attend the rally "a bunch of socialist baby-killing maggots," and read the home phone numbers of the organizers aloud over the air, urging listeners to call and tell them what they thought.

The women, of course, received some nasty, harassing and threatening messages.

I felt a bit apprehensive.

I'd been disappointed before by the turnout at other rallies.

Basically, in Anchorage, if you can get 25 people to show up at an event, it's a success. So, I thought to myself, if we can actually get 100 people there that aren't sent by Eddie Burke, we'll be doing good.

A real statement will have been made.

I confess, I still had a mental image of 15 demonstrators surrounded by hundreds of menacing "socialist baby-killing maggot" haters.

It's a good thing I wasn't tailgating when I saw the crowd in front of the library or I would have ended up in somebody's trunk.

When I got there, about 20 minutes early, the line of sign wavers stretched the full length of the library grounds, along the edge of the road, 6 or 7 people deep!

I could hardly find a place to park.

I nabbed one of the last spots in the library lot, and as I got out of the car and started walking, people seemed to join in from every direction, carrying signs.

Never, have I seen anything like it in my 17 and a half years living in Anchorage.

The organizers had someone walk the rally with a counter, and they clicked off well over 1400 people (not including the 90 counter-demonstrators).

This was the biggest political rally ever, in the history of the state.

I was absolutely stunned.

The second most amazing thing is how many people honked and gave the thumbs up as they drove by.

And even those that didn't honk looked wide-eyed and awe-struck at the huge crowd that was growing by the minute.

This just doesn't happen here.

Then, the infamous Eddie Burke showed up.

He tried to talk to the media, and was instantly surrounded by a group of 20 people who started shouting O-BA-MA so loud he couldn't be heard.

Then passing cars started honking in a rhythmic pattern of 3, like the Obama chant, while the crowd cheered, hooted and waved their signs high.

So, if you've been doing the math?

Yes.

The Alaska Women Reject Palin rally was significantly bigger than Palin's rally that got all the national media coverage!

Feel free to spread the pictures around to anyone who needs to know that Sarah Palin most definitely does not speak for all Alaskans.

For those who still can’t grasp the concept of white privilege, or who are constantly looking for some easy-to-understand examples of it, perhaps this list will help.
White privilege is when you can get pregnant at seventeen like Bristol Palin and everyone is quick to insist that your life and that of your family is a personal matter, and that no one has a right to judge you or your parents, because “every family has challenges,” even as black and Latino families with similar “challenges” are regularly typified as irresponsible, pathological and arbiters of social decay.
White privilege is when you can call yourself a “fuckin’ redneck,” like Bristol Palin’s boyfriend does, and talk about how if anyone messes with you, you'll “kick their fuckin' ass,” and talk about how you like to “shoot shit” for fun, and still be viewed as a responsible, all-American boy (and a great son-in-law to be) rather than a thug.
White privilege is when you can attend four different colleges in six years like Sarah Palin did (one of which you basically failed out of, then returned to after making up some coursework at a community college), and no one questions your intelligence or commitment to achievement, whereas a person of color who did this would be viewed as unfit for college, and probably someone who only got in in the first place because of affirmative action.
White privilege is when you can claim that being mayor of a town smaller than most medium-sized colleges, and then Governor of a state with about the same number of people as the lower fifth of the island of Manhattan, makes you ready to potentially be president, and people don’t all piss on themselves with laughter, while being a black U.S. Senator, two-term state Senator, and constitutional law scholar, means you’re “untested.”

White privilege is being able to say that you support the words “under God” in the pledge of allegiance because “if it was good enough for the founding fathers, it’s good enough for me,” and not be immediately disqualified from holding office--since, after all, the pledge was written in the late 1800s and the “under God” part wasn’t added until the 1950s--while believing that reading accused criminals and terrorists their rights (because, ya know, the Constitution, which you used to teach at a prestigious law school requires it), is a dangerous and silly idea only supported by mushy liberals.

White privilege is being able to be a gun enthusiast and not make people immediately scared of you.

White privilege is being able to have a husband who was a member of an extremist political party that wants your state to secede from the Union, and whose motto was “Alaska first,” and no one questions your patriotism or that of your family, while if you're black and your spouse merely fails to come to a 9/11 memorial so she can be home with her kids on the first day of school, people immediately think she’s being disrespectful.

White privilege is being able to make fun of community organizers and the work they do--like, among other things, fight for the right of women to vote, or for civil rights, or the 8-hour workday, or an end to child labor--and people think you’re being pithy and tough, but if you merely question the experience of a small town mayor and 18-month governor with no foreign policy expertise beyond a class she took in college--you’re somehow being mean, or even sexist.

White privilege is being able to convince white women who don’t even agree with you on any substantive issue to vote for you and your running mate anyway, because all of a sudden your presence on the ticket has inspired confidence in these same white women, and made them give your party a “second look.”

White privilege is being able to fire people who didn’t support your political campaigns and not be accused of abusing your power or being a typical politician who engages in favoritism, while being black and merely knowing some folks from the old-line political machines in Chicago means you must be corrupt.

White privilege is being able to attend churches over the years whose pastors say that people who voted for John Kerry or merely criticize George W. Bush are going to hell, and that the U.S. is an explicitly Christian nation and the job of Christians is to bring Christian theological principles into government, and who bring in speakers who say the conflict in the Middle East is God’s punishment on Jews for rejecting Jesus, and everyone can still think you’re just a good church-going Christian, but if you’re black and friends with a black pastor who has noted (as have Colin Powell and the U.S. Department of Defense) that terrorist attacks are often the result of U.S. foreign policy and who talks about the history of racism and its effect on black people, you’re an extremist who probably hates America.

White privilege is not knowing what the Bush Doctrine is when asked by a reporter, and then people get angry at the reporter for asking you such a “trick question,” while being black and merely refusing to give one-word answers to the queries of Bill O’Reilly means you’re dodging the question, or trying to seem overly intellectual and nuanced.

White privilege is being able to claim your experience as a POW has anything at all to do with your fitness for president, while being black and experiencing racism is, as Sarah Palin has referred to it a “light” burden.

And finally, white privilege is the only thing that could possibly allow someone to become president when he has voted with George W. Bush 90 percent of the time, even as unemployment is skyrocketing, people are losing their homes, inflation is rising, and the U.S. is increasingly isolated from world opinion, just because white voters aren’t sure about that whole “change” thing. Ya know, it’s just too vague and ill-defined, unlike, say, four more years of the same, which is very concrete and certain…

White privilege is, in short, the problem.

SARAH PALIN EARNS PRESTIGIOUS RUBBER DODO AWARD

Sarah Palin Earns Prestigious Rubber Dodo Award
The second annual Rubber Dodo Award goes to... Sarah Palin.

The Center for Biological Diversity honored her with the 2008 award for her valiant efforts to protect her state's oil industry -- sacrificing the well-being of our earth, our climate, the polar bear, and numerous other warming-threatened species in the process.

Starting in 2006, Palin worked hard to block the government from protecting the polar bear under the Endangered Species Act -- and when the bear was declared "threatened" anyway, she sued, joined shortly thereafter by her oil-industry friends. According to the Center's executive director Kierán Suckling, Palin's lawsuit will put her in the history books as perhaps the only person ever to have accused the Bush administration of excessive use of the Endangered Species Act.
The Center's Rubber Dodo Award is reserved every year for the person in public or private service whom we feel has done the most to contribute to endangered species' extinction.

Last year, we gave the award to Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne.

Allende: cuatro culatas para un solo fusil

CADA SEMANA TRAS el 11 de septiembre pasado, nuevas fantasías y equívocos se han estado publicando en diversos diarios —de papel y en la web—, sobre la “metralleta” (el fusil AK) que Allende recibió como regalo de Fidel Castro. Según nuestras indagaciones, éste nunca estuvo en manos del Presidente en La Moneda, el día preciso en que fue derrocado y halló la muerte. ( Ver artículo inicial del autor sobre el tema, en www.lanacion.cl, 11/09/2007).

Se trata todavía de encubrir un astuto plan ideado por los golpistas en 1973, por lo menos 15 días antes del asalto a La Moneda —a nuestro juicio—, y probablemente con asistencia estadounidense, para hacer aparecer sí o sí al mandatario que sería derrocado el Día “D” empuñando un arma rusa, regalada por un Jefe de Estado comunista, con la que dispararía en defensa de su gobierno, y con la cual eventualmente —según el guión— se quitaría la vida, si es que no era despedazado antes por el bombardeo aéreo. (También planificado con mucha anterioridad).
En el diario santiaguino La Tercera, del domingo 16/09, el jefe de comunicaciones internas del Ejército, Guillermo O’Ryan, asegura que la institución desconoce actualmente dónde está el arma obsequiada por Castro a Allende, que fue exhibida, fotografiada y filmada en jardines de la Escuela Militar, pocos días después del golpe de Estado de 1973. O’Ryan entrega la siguiente primicia: “Sabemos que estuvo guardada en la Escuela Militar entre 1973 y 1978, y que luego fue devuelta a La Moneda”. ¡Magnífica explicación! La Moneda estaba todavía bombardeada, destruida y clausurada en 1978, y sólo fue reabierta el 11 de marzo de 1981 por el gobierno militar.
¿El fantasma de quién habrá recibido el AK-47 enviado por el Ejército al Palacio Presidencial derruido y desierto, tres años antes de su refacción? Seguramente no el de Allende, que combatió todo el día 11-S-73 en defensa de su cargo constitucional dentro de La Moneda, aferrado a una metralleta de culata metálica negra, en forma de horquilla (hueca en el centro), provista de una correa portafusil también negra, jamás regalada a él por Fidel Castro. Es la que aparece en la foto clásica del Chico Lagos (Luis Orlando Lagos Vásquez), difundida mundialmente por The New York Times desde octubre de 1973. Se han hecho decenas de miles de copias de esa imagen (Allende de casco, observando el vuelo de los bombarderos), y en Chile hasta el menos informado de los mayores de 30 años la ha visto alguna vez en su vida.
Pero más que dos, son cuatro metralletas distintas las señaladas por las autoridades militares desde la dictadura, como la obsequiada por el comandante Fidel Castro a Salvador Allende. El engaño y el autoengaño perduran hasta hoy, incluso entre sus partidarios. Se diferencian las cuatro armas, entre otros detalles, por su culata: lo más visible para expertos y profanos.
Culata Nº 1. De madera. Arma que certifica como auténtica Augusto Pinochet, que se guardaba permanentemente en El Cañaveral, residencia de la Payita, hecho revelado por primera vez a este cronista en 2003 por el amigo íntimo de Allende, Víctor Pey, el dueño del diario El Clarín. Dedicatoria de Fidel Castro manuscrita en la correa portafusil de color blanco: “A Salvador, de su compañero de armas, Fidel Castro”. Algunas versiones sitúan la dedicatoria en una lámina de metal atornillada a la culata o la empuñadura. (Fuente: el libro de Pinochet, ‘El día decisivo’, pág. 142, y el documental alemán ‘Más fuerte que el fuego’ (1978).
Culata Nº 2. Metálica, negra, en forma de horquilla, cerrada al fondo, sostenida por Allende en seis fotos de Orlando Lagos tomadas al interior de La Moneda, en horas de la mañana. Correa negra. Es la misma que exhibe el general Palacios por Canal 13, en la tarde del 11/09/73, en un patio del palacio presidencial bombardeado y todavía humeante. Igual texto de la dedicatoria que en la Nº 1, que Palacios no muestra. “Está grabado en la empuñadura” –no en la culata-, asegura. (Ésta y otras armas y proyectiles hallados en el Salón Independencia de La Moneda, donde se examinó el cadáver de Allende por peritos balísticos de la Policía de Investigaciones, fueron confiscados y destruidos inmediatamente después por orden de la autoridad militar, eliminando toda prueba, según consignan los propios funcionarios en un Acta Oficial de lo actuado (11-S-73; 19:00 horas), cuya reproducción facsimilar se encuentra en el libro ‘La Conjura’, de Mónica González, Ediciones B, año 2000).
Culata Nº 3. Metálica, de una sola vara delgada y aparentemente rectangular (imposible poner una dedicatoria allí), que figura en el Croquis Nº 15.254 de Investigaciones, del 11/09/73. No hay fotos de esa escena. El planimetrista Ossandón (firma y sello al pie) dibuja una metralleta entre las piernas del cuerpo sin vida de Salvador Allende, puesto en un sofá del Salón Independencia, “según la versión del Dr. Patricio Guijón, antes de que éste la retirara y la pusiera atravesada sobre las piernas del occiso”. Correa portafusil blanca. Totalmente distinta (el arma) a la Nº 2, exhibida a la prensa por el general Palacios, quizás a la misma hora, en otro lugar de La Moneda. Absolutamente distinta también a la Nº 1. (La parte central del fusil-ametrallador Nº 3, en el dibujo de Ossandón, es más gruesa que la de un AK-47, y el cañón más corto, sin la mira en forma de mariposa —de unos 4 cm— en la punta del fusil. ¿Se inspiraría en otro modelo, de otra marca?).
Culata Nº 4. Metálica de una sola vara, circular esta vez, como un tubo largo de color negro, rematada por una semiherradura para apoyar en el hombro, al igual que la Nº 3. Es esta cuarta metralleta la que empuña Allende en una conocida foto de práctica de tiro en El Cañaveral, junto al Coco Paredes, publicada originalmente por El Mercurio, en 1973... Era una más entre decenas de AK-47 proporcionados al GAP por los cubanos.
¿Cuál es entonces el fusil que jura haber examinado el 11/09/73, a las 16:30 horas, dentro de La Moneda, el entonces subinspector de la Brigada de Homicidios, Julio Navarro, según su relato a La Tercera de hace diez días? “En la culata de madera, en su cara izquierda, estaba la placa de metal, con la dedicatoria de Fidel Castro, y el número del arma: 1651” —afirma “ligeramente irritado” porque se duda de su testimonio. Pero en la misma página aparece una foto de 15x10 cm, proporcionada por el Ejército, donde un oficial muestra en la Escuela Militar (hace 34 años y con cara de “yo no fui”) la culata por su lado izquierdo, efectivamente de madera, pero sin placa ni inscripción alguna. En el reverso de la correa blanca, se puede ver estampado el número del AK de Allende, junto a su nombre: ¡4173! =

Here's the good news: Women have become so politically powerful that even the anti-feminist right wing -- the folks with a headlock on the Republican Party -- are trying to appease the gender gap with a first-ever female vice president.
We owe this to women -- and to many men too -- who have picketed, gone on hunger strikes or confronted violence at the polls so women can vote.
We owe it to Shirley Chisholm, who first took the "white-male-only" sign off the White House, and to Hillary Rodham Clinton, who hung in there through ridicule and misogyny to win 18 million votes.
But here is even better news: It won't work.
This isn't the first time a boss has picked an unqualified woman just because she agrees with him and opposes everything most other women want and need. Feminism has never been about getting a job for one woman.
It's about making life more fair for women everywhere.
It's not about a piece of the existing pie; there are too many of us for that.
It's about baking a new pie.
Selecting Sarah Palin, who was touted all summer by Rush Limbaugh, is no way to attract most women, including die-hard Clinton supporters.
Palin shares nothing but a chromosome with Clinton.
Her down-home, divisive and deceptive speech did nothing to cosmeticize a Republican convention that has more than twice as many male delegates as female, a presidential candidate who is owned and operated by the right wing and a platform that opposes pretty much everything Clinton's candidacy stood for -- and that Barack Obama's still does.
To vote in protest for McCain/Palin would be like saying, "Somebody stole my shoes, so I'll amputate my legs.
"This is not to beat up on Palin.
I defend her right to be wrong, even on issues that matter most to me.
I regret that people say she can't do the job because she has children in need of care, especially if they wouldn't say the same about a father.
I get no pleasure from imagining her in the spotlight on national and foreign policy issues about which she has zero background, with one month to learn to compete with Sen. Joe Biden's 37 years' experience.
Palin has been honest about what she doesn't know.
When asked last month about the vice presidency, she said, "I still can't answer that question until someone answers for me: What is it exactly that the VP does every day?" When asked about Iraq, she said, "I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq."
She was elected governor largely because the incumbent was unpopular, and she's won over Alaskans mostly by using unprecedented oil wealth to give a $1,200 rebate to every resident.
Now she is being praised by McCain's campaign as a tax cutter, despite the fact that Alaska has no state income or sales tax.
Perhaps McCain has opposed affirmative action for so long that he doesn't know it's about inviting more people to meet standards, not lowering them.
Or perhaps McCain is following the Bush administration habit, as in the Justice Department, of putting a job candidate's views on "God, guns and gays" ahead of competence.
The difference is that McCain is filling a job one 72-year-old heartbeat away from the presidency.
So let's be clear: The culprit is John McCain.
He may have chosen Palin out of change-envy, or a belief that women can't tell the difference between form and content, but the main motive was to please right-wing ideologues; the same ones who nixed anyone who is now or ever has been a supporter of reproductive freedom.
If that were not the case, McCain could have chosen a woman who knows what a vice president does and who has thought about Iraq; someone like Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison or Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine.
McCain could have taken a baby step away from right-wing patriarchs who determine his actions, right down to opposing the Violence Against Women Act.
Palin's value to those patriarchs is clear: She opposes just about every issue that women support by a majority or plurality.
She believes that creationism should be taught in public schools but disbelieves global warming; she opposes gun control but supports government control of women's wombs; she opposes stem cell research but approves "abstinence-only" programs, which increase unwanted births, sexually transmitted diseases and abortions; she tried to use taxpayers' millions for a state program to shoot wolves from the air but didn't spend enough money to fix a state school system with the lowest high-school graduation rate in the nation; she runs with a candidate who opposes the Fair Pay Act but supports $500 million in subsidies for a natural gas pipeline across Alaska; she supports drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve, though even McCain has opted for the lesser evil of offshore drilling.
She is Phyllis Schlafly, only younger.
I don't doubt her sincerity.
As a lifetime member of the National Rifle Assn., she doesn't just support killing animals from helicopters, she does it herself.
She doesn't just talk about increasing the use of fossil fuels but puts a coal-burning power plant in her own small town.
She doesn't just echo McCain's pledge to criminalize abortion by overturning Roe vs. Wade, she says that if one of her daughters were impregnated by rape or incest, she should bear the child.
She not only opposes reproductive freedom as a human right but implies that it dictates abortion, without saying that it also protects the right to have a child.
So far, the major new McCain supporter that Palin has attracted is James Dobson of Focus on the Family.
Of course, for Dobson, "women are merely waiting for their husbands to assume leadership," so he may be voting for Palin's husband.
Being a hope-a-holic, however, I can see two long-term bipartisan gains from this contest.Republicans may learn they can't appeal to right-wing patriarchs and most women at the same time.
A loss in November could cause the centrist majority of Republicans to take back their party, which was the first to support the Equal Rights Amendment and should be the last to want to invite government into the wombs of women.
And American women, who suffer more because of having two full-time jobs than from any other single injustice, finally have support on a national stage from male leaders who know that women can't be equal outside the home until men are equal in it.
Barack Obama and Joe Biden are campaigning on their belief that men should be, can be and want to be at home for their children.
This could be huge.
