MordorLightning streaks across the sky as lava flows from the volcano on Iceland's Eyjafjallajokull glacier.

Hvolsvollur, Iceland
Details:
We (a group of three people from New Mexico Tech), are currently in Iceland to deploy a six-station lightning mapping array near the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland. On the evening of April 16 there were some small eruptions producing ash clouds up to about 6-7 km, with lightning. The sky was nice and clear. Photographed near the town of Hvolsvollur with Nikon D700 and 80-200/2.8 lens.
